GHK-Cu 100 mg is a small three-amino-acid peptide (glycine, histidine, lysine) bound to a copper ion. It occurs naturally in plasma, saliva and urine, and its level drops with age: about 200 ng/mL at age 20 versus 80 ng/mL at age 60. It is widely used in cosmetics (creams and serums) and studied for tissue repair.
GHK-Cu was discovered in 1973 by researcher Loren Pickart. Clinical studies mostly cover its use on the skin, where it improved skin density and elasticity and reduced wrinkles compared with placebo. Data on injection in humans are limited, and injection-site reactions (redness, a burning feeling) are sometimes reported.
The product ships as a lyophilized powder, to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. Keep the powder in the freezer or the fridge, away from light. Once reconstituted, keep the vial at 2 to 8 °C and use it within about 4 weeks.
